Day 1: Addis Ababa city tour

Morning drive to visit the Mount Entoto to have the best views over the capital, Institute of Ethiopian Studies, where you can see a variety of artifacts from all the different regions reflecting the history and culture of the country, National museum exhibiting the 3.5 million-year-old bones of Lucy, George Cathedral where paintings by the famous Ethiopian artist Afework Tekele and other ecclesiastical wealth and cultural heritage of the past are displayed, Trinity Cathedral which is the burial place of members of the imperial family and patriots. The cathedral is the most magnificent of its kind in the country, ornamented with carvings, mosaics and other artistic works. Day 2: Lalibela by flight

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Lalibela. Upon arrival, you will be met by our team and transferred to your hotel. Later, we shall visit the 11-renowned rock-hewn churches of Lalibela which are also called the “8^th wonder of the world”. The Lalibela rock hewn churches are physically carved from the rock. Some are sculptured out of a solid volcanic rock, others are connected by long underground tunnel and mazes. Some are quarried enlargements of caves. The first group of 6 churches lies in rock cradles, one behind the other. They are Bet Golgotha, Bet Mikeal, Bet Mariam, Bet Maskel, Bet Dangal and Bet Medhanealem. Bet Medhanealem is the largest rock hewn church in the world and is built like a Greek temple. After lunch, we will visit the 2^nd group of churches located to the south of the river Jordan. The 2^nd group comprises of Bet Giyorgis which is the most elegant of all the Lalibela churches. It lies isolated to the south-western part of the village on a slopping rock terrace and is only accessible through a tunnel. The group of 4 churches, south of the river Jordan River, comprises Bet Emanuel, Bet Mercurios, Bet Aba Libanos and Bet Gabriel & Rufeal. Bet Emanuel’s elaborated exterior has been much praised by international art historians. Day 3: Addis Ababa

After breakfast, we visit the Ne’akuto Le’ab Monastery outside the town. After lunch, you will fly to Addis Ababa and transferred to your hotel. In the evening, we will transfer you to one of the local traditional restaurants for your dinner with cultural songs, dances and traditional foods. Overnight at Monarch Hotel (www.monarchaddis.com) or similar.

Day 4: Departure

After breakfast, drive to Addis Ababa.
