2 Day Akagera and Lake Ihema wildlife safari tour itinerary

Day 1:  Akagera National Park

Morning drive for about 2.5 hours to Akagera National Park in the eastern part of Rwanda for a morning nature walk and lunch at the Akagera Game Lodge. After lunch, you will enjoy a short siesta, followed by an afternoon canoe ride on Lake Ihema to see aquatic animals like hippos and crocodiles as well as water birds like the papyrus gonolek, shoebill stork and African fish eagle. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Resort and Country Club or similar.

Day 2:  Kigali

After breakfast, drive for a morning game drive to see wildlife such as elephants, impala, black-tailed mongoose, hippos, oribi, bushbuck, antelope, zebra, cape eland, giraffe and buffalo. Proceed to Kigali for a visit to the Gisozi memorial site and the local handicraft market. Transfer to the airport
