 Day 1 Musanze

Morning drive to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at Virunga Hotel or similar

Day 2: Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, drive to Volcanoes National Park for a presentation on The Golden Monkey and a briefing by the Volcanoes National Park guides. You should bring snacks and sufficient drinking water as the trek is strenuous and the rainforest gets hot and humid during the day. You will spend one hour with the Golden Monkeys, but it is an hour you will never forget! After the visit, you will return to your hotel for lunch. Dinner and overnight at Virunga Hotel or similar

Day 3: Twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo

After Breakfast, drive to visit the Twin Lakes Burera and Ruhondo then return for lunch at the Hotel before proceeding to the Community Based Activities. These activities provide interaction with the local village people and includes activities you can take part in such as talking with ex-poachers, learning about culture, marginalized people, agriculture, traditional healing, nature walks, and bird watching. Dinner and overnight at Virunga Hotel or similar

Day 4 Lake Kivu Boat ride

After breakfast, drive for a morning boat ride on Lake Kivu. On the cruise you will have the chance to see a variety of birdlife and different water animals on the lake shore. You will also visit the Hot Springs and then return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Paradise Malahide or similar

Day 5: Gisenyi – Kigali

After breakfast, drive back to Kigali, with the short visit to the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gizozi. At this stop, you will also have time for interaction with local people discovering their artisanal products for sale. Transfer to the airport
