6 Days discover Volcanoes safari tour itinerary

Day 1: Kigali

Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at Heaven Boutique Hotel or similar

Day 2 Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast, we depart for Nyungwe forest having lunch en-route. We will have a stopover in Huye to visit the national museum. After learning about the history, culture and traditions of Rwanda we proceed to the lodge arriving later that evening. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel or similar

Day 3: Nyungwe Forest National Park

Chimp tracking & Canopy Walk in Nyungwe Forest

Early in the Morning after breakfast, we leave for Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe forest. This forest is rich in botanical diversity and home to 13 species of primates including Chimpanzees, L’Hoest monkeys, and Columbus monkeys with 300 bird species. After the experience of Chimpanzee trekking we will do a canopy walk immediately or take it in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel or similar

Day 4: Volcanoes National Park

Transfer to the home of mountain Gorillas

After early breakfast, we leave for Volcanoes national park as we enjoy the views of Lake Kivu with its Islands on our way, arriving at the hotel in the evening. The journey from Nyungwe lasts about 6 hours depending on the stopovers we make en route on the winding roads of Rwanda. Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge or similar

Day 5: Volcanoes National Park

Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda

Today is the day you will meet the mountain gorillas in their habitat deep in the dense jungles of the Virunga ranges. Embark on the trek through the territory of these enormous animals. This is an unforgettable experience on many people’s bucket list. The trek can last from an hour to four hours depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night – you need to be relatively fit to enjoy this experience. Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge or similar

Day 6: Kigali

After breakfast, drive to Kigali
